While searching for a place to reserve for my son’s seventh birthday in March, a close friend suggested checking out Little Beans Cafe. After looking at their website, the Hubby and I decided to check out the place. We thought it would be a good idea to take our son there after school. I also invited my close friend and her daughter to join us.
Little Beans Cafe is a play area for kids, and has two locations, the other one is in the city. This location is for the younger ones ages 0-6 years old. The other location is in Evanston, the address is 430 Asbury Ave, Evanston, IL 60202. This one is for the older children ages 4-12 years old. There’s also a couple of places for the younger ones to play in. They both have various activities for the children to play in from Zip Lining (in Evanston), summer camp, Karaoke, and you are able to reserve either partial or the entire area for parties. If you’re interested, you can check their website here: Chicago location and here: Evanston location. There are two rooms. In one room, there’s pretend buildings, and a treehouse for kids to play pretend, climb, and crawl on. There’s also props and costumes provided for more playing and pretending. There’s also a couple of places for the smaller ones to play in as well.
The other room is for the older kids. It’s an obstacle course with a basketball court, Zip Lining, and a pit full of soft blocks. In the play area, they request to wear just socks, but in the obstacle course, it’s okay to wear sneakers. It’s especially helpful when climbing and hopping around the equipment. In the basketball court, you can play all kinds of sports. You can also play a game of Air Hockey or Table Ping Pong. Another great thing about this place is the cafe in the front of the building in case you’re thirsty, need a caffeine boost, or are feeling a little peckish.
When it was time to go, the kids didn’t want to leave. My son enjoyed playing in both rooms. As you can see in the pictures he enjoyed playing “Firemen” saving people from imaginary fires, and putting out imaginary fires with a group of kids wearing the same uniform. He also enjoyed attempting to climb up the obstacle course, and falling into the pit of blocks. My friend’s Little One had a fun time climbing up the stairs of the treehouse, and playing in the sections that’s for the smaller ones. We all had a great time and look forward to coming back!
